A Youth Group for HIV+ youth in Cape town. Working with Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation, we were looking for a way to get hiv+ youth to return back to the clinic for counseling. Most children/teens would leave the clinic, and never return.
Posters and flyers were, handed out in the City centres and Townships.
Small and discreet, mini info packs were given to HIV+ youth after counseling as a reminder to come back. (90mm x 45mm when folded)
The concept was to let the youth know that HIV isn’t a death sentence, especially if treated and discovered early.
I wanted the copy to reflect the emotional journey that follows after finding out one is hiv+, but end with a “positive” message. The metaphor between “Positive” was hard to ignore, and chosen as it cleverly and simply carried the message of Hlanganani Youth Group.
